Julie Spencer is an internationally acclaimed solo marimbist and composer. Currently a Visiting Lecturer in Percussion at the University of Michigan, Spencer has also taught at the California Institute for the Arts from 1990 to 1994. Julie has released two Compact Disk Recordings. Her first recording, "Ask", (Interworld Music) features solo marimba, and the second, "Changes Inside" (Spencer Blume Publications), is a jazz duo with pianist Gernot Blume. Spencer is a member of Common Ground and has appeared at PASIC conventions in 1985, '86, '91, and '94.
