PT-60

• CUP CHARACTERISTICS:  32 mm. diameter - Small - Rounded cup
• RIM CHARACTERISTICS:  Width 9 mm. - Moderately rounded inner and well-rounded outer edges
• THROAT BORE:  7 mm.
• Model PT-60 is a standard-rim, shallow cup mouthpiece. The small throat and tight backbore provides the brilliance required for solo, chamber, or recording performance, but can also be used for playing where a transparent sound is desired, particularly on large tubas. This is an all around, basic F-tuba mouthpiece which allows the player to take full advantage of the technical and high-range possibilities.

PT-62

• CUP CHARACTERISTICS:  32 mm. diameter - Small - Rounded cup.
• RIM CHARACTERISTICS:  Width 9 mm. - Rounded inner and well-rounded outer edges
• THROAT BORE:  7 mm.
• Model PT-62 is a cushion-rim version of model PT-60. It is well-suited to extend length solo performances or long recording sessions. It is recommended for players with large lips, or for those players who wish to reduce the stress on the embouchure.

PT-63

• CUP DIAMETER:  32 mm. - Medium Depth - Well rounded at bottom
• RIM:  8 mm. - Well rounded inner and outer edges
• THROAT BORE:  8 mm.
• The PT-63 combines the rim of the PT-89 with the cup of the PT-80.  The cup diameter is slightly smaller than other popular F-Tuba mouthpieces such as the PT-64, PT-65, PT-72, or PT-80.  The mouthpiece responds accurately in all ranges while providing excellent intonation, particularly on modern large-bore instruments.  The sound is full, and dark in color with a strong center and excellent projection.

PT-64

• CUP CHARACTERISTICS:  32 mm. diameter - Moderately shallow - Bowl-shaped cup
• RIM CHARACTERISTICS:  Width 9 mm. - Very round cushion
• THROAT BORE:  7.8 mm.
• Model PT-64 provides a lively and exciting sound with a clear core and excellent projection. It also allows great flexibility and a remarkable tone color for the CC tuba. It is recommended especially for the F and Eb tubas, giving great power and a commanding nature for solo performance with large accompanying ensembles, or for use in executing the high-range orchestral literature. This is one of the most popular tuba mouthpieces today.

PT-65

• CUP DIAMETER:  32 mm. - Medium depth - Very round
• RIM:  8.5 mm. - Rounded with well defined inner contact point
• THROAT BORE:  7.8 mm.
• Model PT-65 is similar to the PT-64, on which it is based.  The PT-65 provides a strong center and great accuracy in all ranges just as the PT-64 does, but with a different tonal nature.  The center is clear and dominating yet dark in character.  The response, the accuracy, the flexibility, the tonal nature of this new model accommodates modern large bore instruments and demanding contemporary literature.

PT-66

• CUP CHARACTERISTICS:  32.5 mm. diameter - Medium depth - Bowl-shaped
• RIM CHARACTERISTICS:  Width 9 mm. - Rounded inner and outer edges
• THROAT BORE:  8 mm.
• Model PT-66 is a traditional, German-style mouthpiece giving a clear and lively sound. Its deeper cup provides more volume with a slightly mellower quality than model PT-64. It is highly recommended for the F and Eb tubas, but is also useful for the CC and BBb tubas where quick response and a clear, vibrant sound is desired.

PT-67

• CUP DIAMETER:  32 mm. - Medium depth - Rounded

• THROAT BORE:  8 mm.
• Model PT-67 i essential a medium large, full cup mouthpiece for the F or Eb Tuba, or a medium-large one for the CC or BBb tuba.  Great tonal breadth and volume is easily obtained on the F or Eb tuba while retaining excellent response and intonation.  Used on a medium-large or large CC or BBb tuba, the sound has a strong core, with great clarity and projection.  As with the PT-65, this mouthpiece is built to accommodate large bore concepts while retaining ease of response and efficiency.

PT-68

• RIM CHARACTERISTICS:  Width 8 mm. - Rounded inner and outer edges
• THROAT BORE:  8 mm.
• Model PT-68 is a high-dynamic range mouthpiece with an essentially bright sound. It has a clear quality combined with a fullness expected only from deeper mouthpieces. It gives great power and a commanding nature to the F tuba, especially for solo performances with large accompanying ensembles.

PT-70

• CUP CHARACTERISTICS:  32.5 mm. diameter - Deep - Very rounded at bottom
• RIM CHARACTERISTICS:  Width 8 mm. - Small with sharp inner rim
• THROAT BORE:  8 mm.
• Model PT-70 is a fairly deep mouthpiece with a bell-shaped cup. This gives a broad sound with quick response. It is a very comfortable and powerful mouthpiece which features a brilliant sound and is highly recommended for any tuba.

PT-72

• CUP CHARACTERISTICS:  32.5 mm. diameter - Moderately rounded at bottom
• RIM CHARACTERISTICS:  Width 8 mm. - Fairly sharp inner edge - Moderately rounded rim
• THROAT BORE:  8.1 mm.
• Model PT-72 is a large mouthpiece for the F or Eb tuba. The sound has considerable weight combined with the richness and clarity associated with the German concept. It is also recommended for intermediate level students of the BBb and CC tubas.

PT-80

• CUP CHARACTERISTICS:  32.5 mm. Deep - Very rounded at bottom
• RIM CHARACTERISTICS:  Width 8.5 mm. - Cushion rim with well-rounded inner and outer edges
• THROAT BORE:  8 mm.
• Model PT-80 is designed for use in orchestral playing where one desires a clear yet moderately dark sound. It has great projection in all registers and is recommended for the F or Eb tuba.

PT-82

• CUP CHARACTERISTICS:  32.5 mm. diameter - Moderately shallow - Very round cup
• RIM CHARACTERISTICS:  Width 8 mm. - Rounded rim with slightly sharp inner edge
• THROAT BORE:  8.2 mm.
• Model PT-82 is a high-dynamic range, German-style mouthpiece, especially designed for large or otherwise mellow sounding instruments. The low register response is particularly good.

PT-83

• CUP CHARACTERISTICS:  33 mm. diameter - Medium-deep
• RIM CHARACTERISTICS:  Width 7.5 mm. - Fairly sharp inner edge - Moderately-rounded rim
• THROAT BORE:  8.4 mm.
• Model PT-83 offers a distinct but dark sound in all registers. The sharp inner rim provides quick response. It is designed for use with the CC and BBb tubas. It is an all-purpose mouthpiece.

PT-84

• CUP CHARACTERISTICS:  32 mm .diameter - Bowl-shaped - Deep cup
• RIM CHARACTERISTICS:  Width 8 mm. - Well-rounded inner and outer edges
• THROAT BORE:  8 mm.
• Model PT-84 provides a powerful, projecting sound. It is very flexible, has a good upper range, and gives a very quick response for a mouthpiece of this size, particularly in the low range. This is a very popular mouthpiece, highly recommended for the Eb tuba.

PT-86

• CUP CHARACTERISTICS:  33.7 mm. diameter - Very wide diameter - Moderate depth
• RIM CHARACTERISTICS:  Width 9 mm. - Slightly rounded inner edges
• THROAT BORE:  8.3 mm.
• Model PT-86 offers a very wide cup for players with particularly large lips. It favors middle and low registers, particularly when high volume is desired. The tonal character is round and weighty.

PT-88

• CUP CHARACTERISTICS:  33.5 mm. diameter - Very wide - Deep cup - Bowl-shaped - Very rounded at bottom.
• RIM CHARACTERISTICS:  Width 7 mm. - Rounded inner edge - Very rounded outer edge
• THROAT BORE:  8.2 mm.
• Model PT-88 was primarily intended as a special applications mouthpiece for low register playing. However, it has found considerable acceptance for use on medium-large and large bore CC tubas. It serves very well on any BBb tuba, providing a very full and strong tone. It is recommended for advanced players.

PT-89

• CUP DIAMETER:  32 mm. - Deep - Strongly rounded at bottom
• RIM:  8 mm. - Well rounded inner and outer edges
• THROAT BORE:  8.3 mm.
• The PT-89 combines the rim of the PT-84 and the cup of the PT-90.  The cup diameter is less than large mouthpieces such as the PT-34, PT-36, PT-50, or PT-88.  The mouthpieces is easy and comfortable to play, particularly for those who find the others too big.  This mouthpiece produces a broad, dark sound with very strong center.  Highly recommended for medium and large bore CC and BBb tubas.

PT-90

• CUP DIAMETER:  31.8 mm. - Deep - Well rounded at bottom
• RIM:  7.5 mm. - Well rounded inner and outer edges
• THROAT BORE:  8.3 mm.
• Model PT-90 offers the combination of a moderately wide cup diameter with a deep cup.  It is good for those players who desire the benefits of such a cup yet without an aperture that is too wide.  The sound is dark in character, yet has a clear, well defined core.
